SUV Fire, At Concord’s Capitol Center, Quickly Knocked Down: Watch

An SUV, parked right outside the historic building on South Main Street, caught on fire Sunday and was extinguished by firefighters.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to a vehicle fire on Sunday morning.

Capital region dispatch began receiving calls about a fire at the Capitol Center for the Arts at 1:30 a.m. The dispatcher warned firefighters there might be injuries connected to the call but they were not positively sure. Police dispatch also received reports there were people inside the SUV as it was on fire, according to scanner chatter.

When the first firefighters arrived, they found a Toyota RAV4 SUV fully engaged and called for more backup while police blocked both sides of the street. More firefighters were then requested. A few minutes later, the extra firefighters were canceled since the first ones were able to quickly knock the fire down.
