Taking Seniors for a Ride
In Concord, Havenwood-Heritage Heights residents enjoy cruising on some Harleys.
While it was a murky day last week, weather-wise, there were a lot of smiling faces at Havenwood Heritage Heights, where some seniors got to cross some items off their bucket lists.
According to Eileen Sleeper, the principal dealer of Heritage Harley-Davidson, a senior at the complex wanted to take one last ride on a motorcycle. So the dealership brought over two Tri Glide touring tricycles to the complex on Aug. 8, for the seniors to take rides on. Sleeper called them the perfect bikes for both touring and comfort,
“The residents are really enjoying them, I think,” she said.

Drivers took the Tri Glide for a quick spin down Christian Avenue, around East Side Drive, and then back again, while riders raised their hands excitedly and their fellow residents cheered them on. In all, 12 seniors took rides.
“I’m addicted,” said Janet, one senior after a ride around the block. “Oh what a ride … I loved it, just loved it ... it was wonderful.”
