TD Bank In Downtown Concord Robbed

A potential suspect was found a block from Concord Police Department headquarters on Green Street.

CONCORD, NH — A bank in Downtown Concord was robbed on Monday — but police believe they have a suspect who was found and arrested less than a block from police headquarters.

At around 4:15 p.m., police dispatch reported the TD Bank on North Main Street was robbed. A man wrote a note demanding money and left the bank, heading toward Loudon Road.

Dispatch described the man as white, with a black hat, a mask, and sunglasses. The suspect was also wheeling luggage. The suspect, dispatch said, got away with about $10,000. An officer at the Everett Arena was the first to commit to searching for the suspect. A second officer, about a minute later, requested a description of the suspect again.

After dispatch repeated the description, the officer said, “Going off with that male right in front of the PD.”

Another officer asked dispatch if any weapons were involved and dispatch said, “no.” She added, “It sounds like he had a note typed out on his phone that he slid to the teller.” Another officer confirmed the location of the suspect, who was outside of the Concord Public Library. The luggage had the name "William" on it. Another officer said he dealt with the suspect, a man in his early 30s, earlier in the day, on another call for service.

“He has a large sum of money,” one of the officers said, “that is visible in his pocket.”

Two Concord officers headed to the bank to speak to employees. Two other officers in an unmarked SUV arrived a short time later.

Around 4:30 p.m., police confirmed the suspect outside the library matched the description of the man who robbed the bank based on surveillance footage and several descriptors like height, weight, shoes, and other things. After the arrest, officers searched Centre Street for the man's hat and other clues.
