A local teen is facing charges later this month after allegedly stealing items at Concord High School.

Zeth Michael Beall, 17, of Pleasant Street in Concord, was arrested at 10 a.m. on Sept. 11, on two receiving stolen property.

The school resource offer at Concord High, according to an arrest report, was contacted by a physical education teacher and two students about a possible theft in the boy’s locker room.

The boys stated that they had personal belongings that were stolen from their unsecured lockers during gym class. One stated he had between $10 and $20 in his wallet and one of the dollar bills had a stain on it. Two other dollar bills had pen marks on them. The boy stated that Beall was allegedly in the locker room even though he didn’t have gym class. Another boy stated that he noticed his bag was open inside his locker. Missing items including a bike pump, a multi-tool wrench set, keys, and a battery charger, all valued at around $50.

The SRO requested that administration be on the lookout for Beall so he could be spoken to about the incidents. He was later found in another common area.

Beall allegedly denied taking items from the lockers, according to the report, and began taking items out of his pants pockets and the officer noticed that none of the items matched the stolen items.

An assistant principal took possession of Beall’s backpack and asked if any of the times were in there, and he allegedly said they weren’t in the backpack.

An administrative search of the backpack was done by the assistant principal and he allegedly found $29 in cash, a bicycle pump, a multi-tool wrench set, a glass marijuana pipe, a utility knife, and two lighters.

The cash, according to the SRO, had stains and markings. The pipe reportedly didn’t have enough residue to test for a possible drug charge, according to the report.

During a conversation with Beall, another boy was alleged to have been involved in the theft. That boy, however, didn’t have any stolen items in his backpack and allegedly denied being involved in the theft. He was later suspended for 10 days.

Beall was charged and is due in court on Oct. 20.
