Rep. James Bridenstine, (R-Okla), recently held a town hall in his home district. At that event, Bridenstine listened as one of his supporters said the President of the United States of America, our sitting President, should be “executed as an enemy combatant.” Bridenstine did not interrupt or reprimand the speaker, nor did he correct her at the time. He did not point out that what she was saying was bat poop crazy, and probably criminal.
As a sitting Congressman, Bridenstine in effect endorsed ending the life of the President. By remaining silent in the face of his supporter’s outrageous comment, the Congressman violated his oath of office, and brought shame upon his constituency. If he had any understanding of the duties that surround his office, he would apologize for his stupid lapse of judgment, and resign his office effective immediately. His bigmouth supporter should sign up for remedial history, and shut up until 2050.
