This Weekend: Snow, Guns, and Oscars

Plus, a workshop for veterans and their spouses and the author of "Homeland" comes to Concord.

Here are 5 Things to know about this weekend in Concord:

  1. More snow is coming. Exactly how much isn’t known but it will be here. Expect rain and snow showers on Saturday before 2 p.m. then heavy, wet snow after 3 p.m. and lasting through the evening until Sunday afternoon. As much as a foot is expected.
  2. 223 - NH Day of Resistance. Gun owners will again be rallying at the Statehouse at noon on Saturday to protect and defend their 2nd Amendment rights. The rally is a part of more than 100 other rallies across the country.
  3. Vet’s spouse workshop. Also at noon on Saturday, Concord VFW Post 1631 on Court Street holds a workshop for veterans and their spouses about benefits they may be qualified for at the Veterans Administration. The event is free. Please bring a copy of the veteran’s DD214 form with you.
  4. Meet Cory Doctorow. the author of “Homeland,” will be at Gibson’s Bookstore on South Main Street at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
  5. The red carpet at Red River. Red River Theatres’ annual fundraiser, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The event features a red carpet walk, live music, food, and all kinds of fun before the Academy Awards, which airs at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40.
