Thunderstorm Watch Issued For NH

The National Weather Service: Expect possible hazardous weather this afternoon and evening across the Granite State.

GRAY, ME — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for most of New Hampshire including Merrimack and Hillsborough Counties, according to an alert online. The alert – warning of possible severe thunderstorms – was issued at 1:29 p.m. on May 31, 2017. Showers, according to the NWS, are likely this afternoon through 11 p.m. tonight.

“Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds,” according to forecasters.

Precipitation is expected to be in the 70 percent range but accumulations will not reach more than a tenth of an inch where there are not thunderstorms. Levels will be higher where thunderstorms occur, according to the NWS.
