Today's WONDERFUL WCC WOMAN... is Lisa Schermerhorn

WONDERFUL WCC WOMAN is all about the amazing women that are members of the Woman's Club of Concord...

I was born in New Jersey and grew up on the Jersey Shore.  Yes, I’m a Jersey Girl!
I went to Simmons College and majored in Retail Management dreaming of becoming a buyer in a major department store.  I graduated from Simmons and went on to Jordan Marsh Department store and entered into their executive training program.

Scott, my husband and I met while in college and he was offered a job of in NYC the day I graduated from the executive training program. I left Boston and went on to work on Fashion Ave. for Liz Claiborne.  The commute and hours were a grind so I left and went to work for Metallurgical Industries a company my father and grandfather founded.  I sold welding equipment, ran Customer Service, and Human Resource.  I decided that since I was one of very few women in the Welding Industry, so I learned how to weld, so that I knew what I was talking about.

Once our children Max and Haylie were born, I left the family business to stay home.  I got really involved in non-profits holding board positions at the Junior League of Monmouth County, Monmouth Day Care Center, President of the Newcomers Club of Duxbury, Co-Founder of Duxbury Pop Warner Football program (that’s a story in itself), Duxbury Inter-Faith Council, Co-Chaired the Derryfield School Auction, member of Toastmasters of Concord, and became President of The WCC.  I’ve also authored a book called, “God Through the Eyes of Children, An Inter-Faith Perspective”. (I still have a few copies in my basement.)

I have a passion for travel and my husband has a passion for motorcycles.  We traveled, to Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia on a motorcycle for our 20th wedding anniversary.

About 13 years ago I became passionate about studying alternative healing techniques.  I had an abusive childhood and this work saved my life.  I traveled to Stonehenge to become a Reiki Master, became a Certified Hypnotist, Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner and an Energy Medicine Practitioner.  I have a passion helping others and speaking about my own personal healing journey.  I am a Personal Development Coach and Professional Speaker.
