Administrative Assistant, (Building and Assessing), Community Development Department

The Town of Bow, NH is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Community Development Department.The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clerical support to the Community Development Department with a primary focus on Building and Assessing. One of the major responsibilities of this position is providing high-quality customer service at the Community Development counter, on the phone, and when responding to emails. Duties include receiving and processing applications for building permits, scheduling inspections, responding to inquiries concerning assessing records, assisting taxpayers with exemption and abatement applications, and organizing and tracking tax map changes. The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Conservation Commission and Drinking Water Protection Committee by preparing meeting materials and taking minutes. The role involves managing and updating the web pages for these boards and commissions, as well as for the Department.

Qualified applicants should possess a high school degree or equivalent, with associate degree preferred, and three years progressive, responsible experience of an administrative nature in public jurisdiction or private organization; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Salary range $22.21 to $27.06 per hour DOQ.

Building Maintenance Aide

The Town of Bow, NH is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Building Maintenance Aide. This position performs routine maintenance and cleaning of public properties. Hourly rate Pay range is $18.24 - $22.21 per hour DOQ. Benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and life and disability insurance. Pre employment physical and drug/alcohol required.

Program Coordinator (Part Time)

Parks and Recreation Department

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development of a diverse year-round recreation program. This will include, but not be limited to: developing and overseeing programs, designing activity brochures, scheduling the building and running special events. This individual will act as the liaison between the Parks and Recreation Department and many outside organizations.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to establish, build and maintain professional relationships with other employees, civic groups and the general public.
  • The ability to research programming trends.
  • The ability to work with large or small groups.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to learn recreational software.
  • The ability to work in a busy office and multi-task.
  • First Aid, CPR & AED certified or certifiable.

Hourly rate pay range is $22.21-$27.06 per hour DOQ.
