Town Of Bow: Part Time Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector Must Be A Town Of Bow Resident

The Town of Bow seeks qualified applicants for the position of part time Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector. Working under the administrative direction of the Town Clerk/Tax Collector, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Issuing motor vehicle and boat registrations, plates and titles;

Tax collecting;

Vital Record processing: Marriage license, birth/death certificates

Maintaining official municipal records;

Issuing licenses, including Fish and Game; and,

Voter registration.

Most importantly, the candidate has to be a Bow resident. The position of the Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector requires prospective candidates to be a self- starter, have excellent cash handling and computer skills; possess excellent customer service skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented ensuring that transactions are processed efficiently and accurately and good organizational skills. The Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector shall, in the absence of the Town Clerk/Tax Collector perform the duties, have the powers and be subject to the training and legal requirements and penalties applicable to the Town Clerk/Tax Collector.

A high school degree or GED is required, an Associate’s degree in accounting or business is preferable, with at least two years of related fiscal/clerical/customer service experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.

This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position, with a salary range of $19.74 - $24.06 per hr. The work schedule is 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, although days and hours of work may vary sometimes to accommodate coverage for short staffing.
