Town Of Bow: Town Seeks Fire Chief

The Town of Bow, NH (pop. 8,386) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Fire Chief. This position is responsible for planning, administering, supervising, and coordinating all of the Fire Department’s operations including but not limited to fire prevention and suppression activities and emergency medical services for the town. The Department consists of 1 FT firefighter/EMT, 4 Firefighter/AEMTs and 2 Firefighter/Paramedics, as well as 34 call personnel.

Candidates must have a working knowledge of modern Firefighting and EMS techniques, methods and procedures; knowledge of fire codes, laws and ordinances relating to fire suppression and public safety; ability to analyze situations quickly to determine the proper course of action to be taken; skill in the operation of fire equipment and apparatus; and knowledge and ability to effectively operate in the incident command system in a management and command level capacity.

High school diploma or GED-plus any education, training and experience which would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to function in this position. Candidates must have at least ten years of leadership-level work experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of and the ability to oversee all fire department functions and operations; effectively lead and supervise a diverse workforce; help develop and manage annual budgets; establish short and long term priorities, goals, and objectives; and evaluate outcomes. Additional licenses, certifications, degrees, or certified program experience are preferred.

Salary range: $92,000 to $112,444.
