Truck Crash Reported on I-93

A Derry man was cited after a rollover accident backed up traffic, blocked travel lane in Concord this morning.

CONCORD, NH - A Derry truck diver has been cited for following too closely after a crash on I-93 North on April 6, 2016, in Concord.

New Hampshire State Police troopers were sent to the area just north of the Exit 13 on-ramp for a rollover involving a truck at around 8 a.m.

“Troopers located a 2015 Ford Transit box van, registered to Solarcity Corp. of Manchester, rolled over on its passenger side on I-93, partially blocking the exit 13 on-ramp,” according to Sgt. Ron Taylor of the NHSP. “The travel lane of the Interstate was temporarily closed until the vehicle could be removed.”

The driver, a man from Derry, was given a citation after an investigating trooper found that the driver was reportedly unable to slow his truck down after traffic backed up ahead of him.

“(He) was unable to slow accordingly, applied his brakes and swerved to the right to avoid a collision,” Taylor alleged. “He drove his box truck onto the right shoulder of the roadway and rolled it over onto its right side, where it came to final rest.”
