Work Truck Knocks Out Utility Pole On West Portsmouth Street In Concord: Watch

Concord EMTs took one person to Concord Hospital while New Hampshire State Police investigated the single-vehicle crash on Tuesday night.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams and New Hampshire State Police were sent to a truck crash on West Portsmouth Street on Tuesday.

Around 9:30 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch received a report about a truck crashing into a utility pole, near the bend in the road, just past the Bowen Brook. A witness told dispatch there were wires on the truck and there might still be people inside.

Dispatch told firefighters New Hampshire State Police were already at the scene and were handling the call, according to scanner chatter.

The fire commander confirmed the truck had crashed into the pole, that there were wires down, and that the pole had snapped and was down. The commander said there was a transformer on the pole, too. Later, the driver of the vehicle was identified and talked with state police.

EMTs took one person to Concord Hospital. Unitil also arrived to fix the pole, and Concord firefighters cleared the scene.
