The man and the boy were transported to Concord Hospital at about 7:15 p.m.
Debris from two mailboxes were strewn across the road and neighboring driveways. No skid marks were seen at the scene, making it look as if the truck just drove into the trees without stopping.
UPDATE, 8:38 p.m.
Police have been walking up and down Little Pond Road with flashlights looking for other evidence in the case such as empty containers or any other indication that the truck may have struck another area of the road before hitting the mailboxes.
The father is reportedly not in very good condition at the hospital.
An officer reported that a wrecker would be coming to the scene to remove the truck sometime before 9 p.m.
