According to a press statement, police were sent to Rumford Street between Beacon and Washington streets for a report of a burglary in progress Thursday afternoon. Dispatch was told by a resident that she arrived home and interrupted the burglary. Two women were seen leaving the area on foot toward White Park, according to the report.

When police arrived, they spoke to the resident who stated that she got home around 3:30 p.m. and noticed a woman inside of her house that she didn’t know.
“The female subject identified herself as ‘Tricia’ and immediately asked, ‘Does Anthony live here?’,” according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations division of the Concord Police Department. “The resident said a second female then appeared from an adjoining room and the two then (acted as if) they had mistakenly entered the wrong home. The homeowner said that neither of the subjects was known to her, nor did they have permission to be in the house.”

The women left the home and walked north on Rumford Street. The woman checked her house and found “clothes strewn about” and “items were also missing from the home.”
At the time of the burglary, two women matching the description were picked up by a cab on Celtic Street and brought to the intersection of School and North Spring streets. Detectives and officers as well as a K-9 unit from the New Hampshire State Police attempted to locate the women and were led to an apartment on 32 N. Spring St., a notorious multi-unit flophouse where they located the women.
“While inside the apartment, detectives observed a large quantity of property that appeared to be stolen,” O’Malley alleged. “This included some of the property removed from the residence on Rumford Street. Through their investigation detectives learned that these two females had possibly been involved in other burglaries in the area. It was also learned that a primary motive for these burglaries related to drug use.”
Dodd and Johnson were arrested and held, and will be arraigned today. O’Malley thanked the NHSP for assisting with the case.
