Numerous officers were sent to a crash at the intersection of Route 106 and I-393, near the eastbound Exit 3 off-ramp, at just after 10 p.m. on Dec. 6, according to arrest reports.

When they arrived, they found multiple vehicles stopped and a group of people huddled around a man on the ground that was bleeding from the head. Another man, who originally called 911, said the man on the ground was initially unresponsive but was making slight movements, according to the report.

“While walking towards the group I could detect a very strong odor of alcohol in the air,” the officer alleged. “It appeared as I watched the people on scene interact a majority of them knew each other. Without even asking what happen people started to tell me, ‘the motorcycle got clipped by a vehicle.’ One party said, ‘I watched my friend get hit by a car, that’s all I have to say to you.’”

Concord Fire and Rescue teams along with a state trooper also appeared at the scene while one man began telling everyone else “to not speak with the police and not answer questions,” the officer alleged.

EMTs reported to police that the motorcycle rider – Paris – was thrown from the bike and sustained serious but not life threatening injuries, according to the report. They alleged that he also appeared to be under the influence. Another officer noted that Paris allegedly smelled like alcohol.

A second officer spoke to witnesses including a man who was driving a Ford Focus when Paris allegedly blew a red light and crashed into the driver’s side of his vehicle.

“(The driver) appeared visibly shaken up,” the officer reported.

Other witnesses also stated that the motorcyclist had been at fault by running the red light, according to the report.

A check by dispatch found that the motorcycle’s registration expired in September and that he was convicted of DWI in February 2011 in Concord District Court.

EMTs took Paris to the hospital and one of the officers interviewed him there. He reportedly could not offer details about the accident and admitted to being at the restaurant. While speaking to him, the officer alleged that he gave off a “strong odor” of alcohol, had “extremely glassy and bloodshot” eyes,” and “demanded” to be allowed to “take a p---,” according to the officer.

“When questioned about alcohol consumption, Paris became extremely uncooperative, disrespectful, and confrontational,” the officer alleged.
