U.S. Marshals Service Searching For Escaped Belknap County Prisoner
Alert: Anthony Clark dismantled an ankle monitor and fled Concord Hospital-Laconia on Sunday, with assistance, while receiving treatment.

CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force and the Belknap County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help finding a Belknap County prisoner accused of fleeing from a hospital in Laconia while receiving medical care.
On Sunday, Anthony Clark, 41, was receiving medical treatment at Concord Hospital-Laconia while being held at the county jail on several charges, including strangulation, assault, stalking, and witness tampering, according to William Tufts, a deputy marshal. While receiving care, he had an ankle monitor. Tufts did not get into specifics of the escape, but with the help of associates, Clark fled the hospital. The ankle monitor was found on the hospital grounds later that day, he said.
“Nationwide arrest warrants from Belknap County Superior Court have been issued for new charges of escape, criminal mischief, and breach of bail,” Tufts said. “Clark is actively evading law enforcement but is known to have associates and relatives in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and California.”

Victims of Clark’s violent behavior “consider his escape a looming threat,” he added. The associates will also be charged, a report stated.
Clark is Hispanic, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs around 230 pounds. He has brown eyes, short brown hair, and tattoos on his arms — including an emoji puking tattoo on his right hand above the thumb.

According to superior court records, Clark was accused of violating protective orders in December 2022 and January 2023, witness tampering and stalking in February 2023, and violating protective orders in March 2023, all connected to the same case out of Laconia. After being accused of bail jumping in November 2023, a warrant was issued in December 2023, and he failed to appear at a dispositional conference hearing in January. After being captured, he was held on preventative detention.
A bail hearing was held on July 25 and amended to convert to personal recognizance while he received “necessary inpatient medical treatment.”
After being accused of fleeing again, a warrant was issued for Clark’s arrest on July 29.
Clark is due in court for a status conference on Oct. 15 for both cases.
If you see Clark or someone who looks like him, do not attempt to follow him, as he is considered dangerous, Tufts said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call the USMS Tip Hotline at 1-877-WANTED-2 or the District of New Hampshire at 603-225-1632. Tips can also be submitted via the USMS Tips App. All tips are kept confidential.
