Unitil: Hundreds Without Power

Concord, surrounding towns, without power due to high winds, storm conditions.

Hundreds of homes in Concord and surrounding communities are without power at this hour due to high winds and storm conditions, according to Unitil, the electric company for the region.

As of 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 21, Unitil's Electric Outage Map reader was showing less than 50 homes without power in Concord. A slew of homes in Boscawen and Canterbury are also without power at this hour. More than 500 homes out of the nearly 30,000 homes served in the region are without power, according to the map.

The worst of the storm's damage appears to be happening in the Seacoast area of the state where nearly 1,500 homes are without power.

The region is under a winter weather alert with a wind advisory. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 50 mph in Merrimack County. The advisory has been issued until 7 p.m.
