UPDATE: Alleged Teen Rest Stop Robber Caught

NHSP: A 17-year-old was arrested in Vermont after allegedly stealing a van from a business in Bow.

According to an updated news alert, New Hampshire State Police state troopers and Bow Police continued to investigate the robbery incident on the southbound side of I-93 rest area early this morning. A younger, white male alleged brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee of the store at around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 30, 2016. Trackers were unable to find him after he fled the area.

However, Bow Police identified a 17-year-old boy, who was also missing, as a possible suspect in the incident and his name was entered in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing juvenile.

At just before noon, Troop F troopers were requested to appear at the northern Vermont/New Hampshire border to assist with a possible stolen van driving north on I-91. The Ryder rental van was registered in New Hampshire and heading toward St. Johnsbury, VT. The driver lost control of the van at the end of a 30-mile pursuit and VT State Police took him in to custody.

Investigators found out later that the van was stolen from a business in Bow earlier in the day, according to Sgt. Ron Taylor of the NHSP.

The name of the teen was not released by state police due to him being a juvenile.
