Vacation Week in Concord

It will be a pretty good weather week in the city.

Wondering what’s going on in Concord this week? Here is a list:

  1. Not a bad week. The National Weather Service is calling for relatively decent weather this week. Expect partly sunny skies on Monday with highs in the 30s. Similar weather is expected on Tuesday. By Wednesday, rain is possible with highs in the 40s. Rain may continue into Thursday. By Friday, things clear up a bit and temps will be in the mid-30s. Next weekend is looking pretty good too.
  2. Vacation week. It’s school vacation week for most kids in Concord. The Concord Public Library has a number of things going on. Here’s a link to the calendar at the city’s new website. The Kimball-Jenkins Estate offers Fashion Camp session this week for 7- to -15-year-olds. The Currier Museum of Art has some fun things to do this week as does the Kalily Studio in Epsom.
  3. Thin mint cookie sundae. The Common Man is teaming up with the Girl Scouts to create a new sundae featuring chocolate ice cream, the popular thin mint cookie, marshmallow swirls, hot fudge, and whip cream. Out of every purchase, $1 will go to the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
  4. The state of the climate. A number of environmental groups are hosting a lecture at the Holiday Inn at 9:30 a.m. on Monday featuring a number of speakers talking about the state of climate change in a number of countries and what the United States can do to reduce carbon. The lecture is free and open to the public.
  5. Meet Henry Homeyer. Children’s author Henry Homeyer will be at Gibson’s Bookstore at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
