Second Crash In Bow

Bow fire and rescue teams, as well as police, were also sent to a crash on Route 3A on Sunday around 3:30 p.m.

Capital region dispatch began receiving reports about a truck crash and snapping a utility pole in the area of Vaughan Road. Dispatch also told firefighters and EMTs the driver was climbing out of the back of the truck.

“There’s numerous powerlines out everywhere,” dispatch said after receiving another call.

Bow police shut down the road to one lane and moved other vehicles around the crash scene. One officer told Merrimack County dispatch the driver, a man from Goffstown, said a blue truck swerved into his lane, causing him to lose control of the truck and crash. The blue truck left the scene, driving north.

Fire dispatch also notified Unitil about the power lines and the pole and told firefighters they were receiving alarm activations in town, too, due to the power being out.

Bow EMTs confirmed the van had rolled over and was on the side, off the road. After speaking with the driver, firefighters cleared. An EMT told dispatch they would also be clearing soon. At just past 4 p.m., they were put into service.

A tow truck was requested later.
