Credit cards are not being accepted for purchases at New Hampshire Liquor And Wine Outlets, and there have been transaction issues at the stores for several days. The issue is a problem with the state’s credit card vendor, Chase, E.J. Powers of Montagne Powers, a public relations firm that works with the department.

“The NH Liquor Commission is currently experiencing issues with our credit card vendor, Chase, which is temporarily preventing us from processing credit card transactions,” he said in an email. “We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. We are working with Chase and the Department of Administrative Services, who administers the contract, to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

Liquor stores in Concord were having issues on Friday as well as Wednesday. Issues were also reported in Manchester on Wednesday.

Charlie Arlinghaus, the director of the Department of Administrative Services, did not return an email seeking comment about the situation.

The commission recently opened a new 10,000-plus square foot store in Rindge on Route 202 Cheshire Market Place. The store was modeled after the stores in Epsom and Warner.

During the past decade, new stores have been constructed in 30 communities. There are 66 stores throughout the state.
