CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is searching for a reportedly “armed and dangerous” felon on a supervised release violation warrant.

Gary Pratt is 53, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Pratt, according to Brandon Wilson, a deputy marshal, has tattoos on his arms, chest, and back. He sometimes uses the alias “Gerold Pratt,” he said.

“Pratt is sought on an arrest warrant for release violations on a conviction of being a felon in possession of dangerous weapons,” Wilson said. “Pratt has a lengthy criminal history that includes burglaries, bank robbery, escape, assault by prisoner, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.”

Wilson said Pratt had “made open-ended threats against law enforcement or anyone that would attempt to apprehend him,” which is why marshals consider him armed and dangerous. The task force has also issued a “violent tendencies” warning on Pratt’s alert.

According to superior court records, Pratt’s criminal history dates back to the mid-1980s when he was convicted on robbery and theft charges out of Nashua and an escape charge in Manchester. He pleaded guilty to another escape charge in August 1988 and an assault by a prisoner charge in April 1989. A second assault charge was dismissed in August 1990.

Pratt pleaded guilty to a burglary in Wilton in April 1996, but a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon charge out of Concord in July 1996 was later nolle prossed.

The warrant issued against Pratt was posted on Aug. 11.

If you see Pratt or know where he is, do not try to apprehend him yourself. Contact local police or the task force at 603-225-1632.
