Visitations Suspended In All NH Corrections Facilities Due To Coronavirus

CONCORD, NH — As a result of these latest developments with the new coronavirus and the governor's state of emergency declaration, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces the suspension of visitation and volunteer services in all New Hampshire Department of Corrections facilities, until further notice. This includes in-person attorney visits. The Department of Corrections will make accommodations for electronic attorney/client activity.

In addition, upcoming tours and events are postponed for at least 30 days.

The department will re-evaluate access to our facilities no later than April 3 based on the current facts regarding COVID-19 and reissue an updated press release for further guidance at that time.

The department understands the importance of visitation, volunteer programming, interns and attorney/client activity and will be assessing and monitoring the situation on a daily basis. We will lift these restrictions when it is safe to do so.

Attorneys with urgent needs should contact the warden or designee for the facility housing their client.
