Walker Meets with Business Leaders Sept. 23

Republican first-in-the-nation primary candidate participates in roundtable in Concord.

The New Hampshire House Business Caucus, in partnership with the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, will host its fifth Business Roundtable with a candidate for the office of President at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at The Draft restaurant, 67 South Main St. in Concord. The declared candidate and featured speaker will be Gov. Scott Walker, R-WI.

“We have had a terrific response and level of participation from the business community for this series,” said New Hampshire House Business Caucus founder and Chairwoman, state Rep. Laurie Sanborn, R-Bedford. “Business owners, community leaders, and legislative officials are eager to meet the candidates and better understand their policy positions on key economic issues, and these Business Roundtables provide that opportunity.”

“We are happy to be a partner in this series, and look forward to this and future Business Roundtables with the candidates,” said Tim Sink, President of the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce.

Walker is the 47-year-old second-term governor of Wisconsin. He previously served as a Milwaukee County executive and was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. His fiscal conservatism launched him into the national spotlight in 2011 when he implemented collective bargaining reforms that saved Wisconsin taxpayers $3 billion. The reforms generated massive protests and sparked a recall effort, which Walker won, making him the first governor in U.S. history to win a recall election. Walker was subsequently elected to a second term as governor in 2014.

The Business Roundtable is free but space is limited, and RSVPs should be requested by September 21, 2015.
