WATCH: Concord Firefighters Extinguish Porch Fire

Teams were sent to Merrimack Street yesterday morning. No cause has been determined, according to Chief Andrus.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams were able to quickly extinguish a porch fire on Merrimack Street on Thursday morning, according to Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus. The teams were sent to a report of a structure fire at 12:41 a.m. on Feb. 23, 2017, at a three-family home.

“The fire was reportedly on the porch and the occupant had been awakened by a passerby who saw smoke,” Andrus noted in an email.

Units from Station 4, he said, were on the scene at 12:45 a.m. reporting light smoke from the porch area. The fire was contained to the porch and declared under control at 12:52 a.m. At that time, most of the units were released from the scene.

Fire prevention is still investigating the cause. There were no injuries reported, Andrus said.

The damage has been estimated to be around $2,000.
