Weather Forecasters Are Tracking Snow, Ice, Sleet Storms Heading To New Hampshire
National Weather Service storm alerts warn of snow, freezing rain, and sleet on Thursday; another storm is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
CONCORD, NH — Forecasters with the National Weather said Wednesday that New Hampshire can expect two snowstorms late this week and into the weekend.
This morning, both a “winter weather advisory” and a “hazardous weather outlook” were issued, warning of the upcoming storms.
On Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon, mixed precipitation is expected in central and southern New Hampshire. One to 3 inches of snow mixed with sleet, between one-tenth and two-tenths of an inch, and ice of around one-tenth of an inch are expected.

“A period of mixed precipitation is expected with air temperatures remaining below freezing,” the first alert stated. “Expect slippery road conditions and avoid travel if possible. The Thursday morning commute will be affected … Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
The second storm is expected to “bring accumulating snow” on Saturday night into Sunday.

“Snow may change to a wintry mix and rain along the coast during the day Sunday,” the second alert stated. “This will likely result in difficult travel late Saturday through Sunday.”
The NWS did not offer snow accumulation information for the Saturday to Sunday storm.
AccuWeather.com called the storms “dangerous and disruptive,” pointing to snow, freezing rain, and sleet across the Northeast. It also offered no specific accumulation amounts for the Saturday to Sunday storm.
Weekend Forecast
On Thursday, expect rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain before 3 or 4 p.m., with wind gusts as high as 20 mph. By the end of the storm, about 3 inches of snow is expected across southern New Hampshire. Overnight lows will be in the teens, with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
The sun returns on Friday, with highs in the mid-20s. Wind gusts will be as high as 35 mph, and overnight lows will be in the single digits.
Snow is likely on Saturday, starting before noon on the Seacoast and around 1 p.m. in Concord and the capital region, as well as Nashua, central and western Hillsborough County, and inland Rockingham County. Temps will be in the mid-20s. The snow will continue overnight and into Sunday. In the late afternoon, it will change to freezing rain and sleet, and then snow again in the evening and overnight hours.
Monday and Tuesday are expected to be sunny.
