What Are New Hampshire's Top Baby Names?

The numbers are in, the letters are arranged and the official list of the country’s most popular baby names of 2014 is out.

The Social Security Administration released the 2014 results on Friday. Again in 2014, Noah was the most popular name for boys in the country, but there was a change at the top for girls -- Emma moved up from the No. 2 spot in 2013 to claim No. 1 in 2014.

In New Hampshire, parents didn’t always fall in line with the nation. Noah, for instance, isn’t in the top 10 in New Hampshire, and Emma dropped to number 5 in the Granite State.

Lots of organizations release lists of top names, but the Social Security Administration data are basedon ”a 100 percent sample of our records on Social Security card applications as of the end of February 2015.”
