What Store in Concord Has the Cheapest School Supplies?

It’s back-to-school time again. In a couple of weeks, the kids will be back attending classes in Concord and surrounding communities and learning all they need to know.

Patch took a trip around Concord to find out where the school supplies deals were. We looked for prices on pencils, pens, and notebooks, and found that there are some bargains and specials out there.

Bic Cristal pens are the standard when it comes to ink and you can find a 10-pack of them, in various colors, at various prices around the city. Over at Walgreens on Loudon Road, a package is 29 cents with a rewards card, $1.99 without the card. Both Target, on D’Amante Drive, at Rite Aid on Fort Eddy Road, they cost 99 cents. At Walmart, just up the way on Loudon Road, they cost 97 cents. CVS on Loudon Road has them for $2.19.

If you need pencils, Walmart has a 20-pack of Dixon #2 pencils for 97 cents. Target has eight for 57 cents. Rite Aid has a 10-pack for 79 cents with a rewards card. Ocean State Job Lot has a 20-pack for $2. Staples has a 12-pack for $1.50. CVS has a 10-pack for $2.99, as does Walgreens.

The cost of notebooks is a tad more competitive at all of the stores with different options, sizes, and prices.

Staples has notebooks running from $1 to $6, depending on the size. Walgreens has them for $1.49 to $8.99, one subject to five subject varieties. At Rite Aid, notebooks are ranging in cost from $1.59 to $4.29. The store is also offering 25 percent off other supplies with a rewards card. Target has notebooks costing between $1.89 and $3.89. CVS has notebooks for $3.99 to $5.99. Ocean State Job Lot has notebooks ranging in price from $2 to $4. Walmart has notebooks costing between $1.97 and $4.89.
