Winter Storm Watch Update: 6 To 17 Inches Possible For New Hampshire
The largest storm of the season is heading to the state on Sunday morning with forecasters expecting at least 6 inches of snow if not more.

CONCORD, NH — A “winter storm watch” was issued for central and southern New Hampshire on Friday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, issued a watch alert, running from 7 p.m. on Saturday to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Forecasters warned of “heavy snow possible,” with snow accumulations of more than 6 inches. Wind gusts were expected to be 30 to 35 mph.

“Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibility to create dangerous driving conditions,” the alert stated. “Blowing and drifting snow is possible near the coast and over southeastern New Hampshire.”
The NWS published maps showing between 6 and 17 inches of snow expected in central and southern New Hampshire as well as the Seacoast.

AccuWeather.com predicted 6 to 12 inches from the Lakes Region south, with small areas of Massachusetts bordering possibly receiving 12 to 18 inches of snow.
The New Hampshire Department of Safety’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management also alerted residents and visitors to be prepared for the fast-moving storm.
“As this storm moves closer, take simple steps to keep you and your family safe,” HSEM Director Robert Buxton said. “Stay informed of changing conditions by listening to local weather reports and review your family emergency plan.”

- Avoid driving if possible. If you must leave your home, go slow and leave extra space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
- Slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and never crowd the plow.
- Clear all snow and ice off your car, including your roof, around lights, and license plates before traveling. It’s the law.
- Bridges, overpasses, and exposed road areas are the most prone to slippery conditions.
