A Concord woman will be arraigned on an assault charge in August after allegedly stabbing her husband with a screwdriver.

Nancy A. Milne, 58, of Concord, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. on July 6, on a simple assault (other weapon) charge.

Officers were called to an apartment on Loudon Road for a domestic assault call, according to an arrest report. Concord Fire and Rescue teams were already at the scene, tending to a person who was stabbed with a screwdriver.

Officers spoke with the man as he was being treated and he revealed to an officer a small puncture on his left arm. The man alleged that his wife had stabbed him.

The man allegedly said the two were arguing about money. The man’s wife allegedly demanded his wallet and because she was drinking, he didn’t want to give it to her. She allegedly became more upset, he said, and then, grabbed a screwdriver and stabbed him.

Officers then went to speak with Milne who was reportedly smoking a cigarette and drinking a Mike’s Hard drink. She allegedly claimed that she had a check for $1,300 that her husband cashed and she wanted the money but he wouldn’t give it to her.

Later, Milne allegedly admitted to stabbing her husband and she was arrested.

Milne, who had a scratch on her finger, was also treated by fire and rescue teams. The report didn't reveal how she obtained the scratch.

She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Aug. 26.
