According to a report, at around 10:30 a.m., an officer was sent to the Bow Mobil for a welfare check of a woman on a picnic table with the caller reporting that there appeared to be “something wrong with her.” When the reporting officer arrived at the scene, he saw the woman on a table, passed out, and attempted to wake her up.

“I approached her and tried to wake her up by shaking her shoulder,” the officer alleged. “She did not respond. I did this multiple times and then checked her pulse. I felt a pulse and could see she was breathing. I slapped the table and she sat up.”
The sergeant asked for identification and as she reached into her purse, he allegedly saw a large black sheathed knife and told her to stop so he could remove it. After that, he asked for permission to get her ID out of the bag and she reportedly agreed. After opening the bag, the officer allegedly found a baggie with a substance in it that looked like methamphetamine. He also allegedly saw a scale and multiple baggies rolled up along with a glass pipe and a can of Red Bull, according to the affidavit.

When asked if she had taken the meth, she allegedly said she had. After a sergeant was called to the scene, she was handcuffed and EMTs were called to the scene. Two more knives were allegedly found in the purse as well as a Bubrenorphine strip. Dispatchers also advised that the woman – Avery – was out on parole after being convicted on a felony forgery charge in Merrimack Superior Court in February 2015.
Bow Fire arrived and gave her a medical clearance while a female officer from Concord was requested to search Avery.
When asked about the scale and plastic baggies later, she allegedly denied dealing drugs, stating that she used to ensure she didn’t get ripped off. When asked about the strip, she allegedly stated that she didn’t have a prescription and was using it to try and kick her heroin habit, according to the affidavit.
After being searched, Avery reportedly asked to use her cellphone and the reporting officer attempted to find it in her purse for her. While doing so, he picked up the Red Bull can and noticed that it felt “heavier than normal.” The officer shook the can and reportedly heard items rattling around inside. When asked what was in the can, Avery allegedly said a Xanax pill, a Subutex, and heroin, according to the report.
Avery’s parole officer requested a 72-hour hold on her and she was held and arraigned in court the next day.
According to online reports, Avery is no stranger to police.
In Derry in September 2010, she was arrested on receiving stolen property and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, according to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune.
In November 2012, she was arrested in Concord for two counts of unsworn falsification.
In March 2014, Avery was arrested for allegedly issuing bad checks to Ocean State Job Lots. In May 2014, she was arrested in Bow on assault, obstruction, mischief, and resisting charges. She was also arrested in Concord that month for breach of bail after causing a disturbance on Monroe Street. Later, in August, she was arrested on the forgery charges.
