Woman Injured in Concord’s Swope Park

A hiker reportedly fell and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Firefighters found her a quarter a mile in and carried her out.

CONCORD, NH — A woman was injured earlier today at Swope Park on Long Pond Road earlier today, according to the Concord Fire Department and witnesses. Fire and rescue teams were sent to the park at just before noon on Jan. 30, 2017, for a report of a person who had fallen in the park.

Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus confirmed that the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was located about a quarter of mile off the road. A witness reported that the woman had slipped while in the park.

“Crews hiked in to where the patient was located and made contact at 12:07 p.m.,” Andrus stated. “They did a ‘carry out’ and the patient arrived at the hospital at 1:20 p.m.”
