GILFORD, NH — Sonjya O'Brien recently went to Hannaford in Gilford to grab dinner, but what she found in the parking lot — and ultimately returned — was worth a whole lot more than her meal.

What O'Brien found was a cash bag stuffed with what appeared to be $100 bundles of $1 bills. The bag was abandoned in the parking lot outside the store, she told WMUR.

"The Brinks truck was pulling away from the front of the store as we pulled in and the back door to the truck was open and we didn't see anything fall out or anything," O'Brien told WMUR.

Did O'Brien pocket the money to help pay for the staggering costs of gas? Did she keep it to cover the rising prices of food at the grocery store?

She did not. Instead, she returned it to the store.
