NH Woman Seriously Injured In ATV Crash, Driver Unknown

The woman, identified as Tara Gardner​ of Weare, told officials that she met a group of ATV riders at the Heavens Gas Station in Dunbarton.

DUNBARTON, NH — A 46-year-old New Hampshire woman is seriously injured after being involved in an ATV crash late Wednesday afternoon, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

The woman, identified as Tara Gardner of Weare, told officials that she met a group of ATV riders at the Heavens Gas Station near the intersection of Route 13 and Winslow Road, from where she got a ride from one of the operators.

Gardner did not know the operator, only describing him as a white male named Anthony on a yellow Yamaha Banshee, according to officials.

She was "heavily intoxicated" at the time of the crash, and Anthony was also "allegedly under the influence of alcohol," officials said.

"It appears as though Anthony was traveling at a high rate of speed when he allegedly struck a ditch causing the ATV to roll over, throwing Gardner off the back of the ATV causing the injuries," according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Gardner, who was not wearing any safety gear, was taken by ambulance from the Goffstown Urgent Care to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester for treatment.
