Wrestlers From Nearly 2 Dozen NH High Schools Competed At 2026 NHSCA High School Nationals

Samuel Josey of Portsmouth, who goes to St. John's, Francisco Juvera of Milford, and Daniel Sheehan of Concord, earned All-American status.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Eighty-three wrestlers from the Granite State competed last weekend at the three-day 2026 NHSCA High School Nationals at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA.

The wrestlers, who competed in four high school grade divisions, a girls’ division, and a middle school division, were from all 50 states and three counties. More than 6,800 wrestlers signed up to compete. The organizers had bouts set up on 79 mats. More than 200 college coaches were also in attendance to watch the bouts.

Wrestlers from 22 high schools, including students from Bedford, Bishop Guertin, Bow, Campbell (Litchfield), Concord, Exeter, Goffstown, Hampton, Hollis-Brookline, Keene, Manchester Memorial, Merrimack, Milford, Nashua, Newport, Oyster River (Durham), Pelham, Portsmouth, Salem, Souhegan (Amherst), Spaulding (Rochester), and Timberlane, participated.

To become an All-American with NHSCA, students must finish in the top 8 at the tournament.

Only three New Hampshire wrestlers achieved the status: Samuel Josey of St. John's Prep, who lives in Portsmouth, who placed first in the 182 freshmen weight bracket and went 4-0, Francisco Juvera of Milford, who placed seventh in the 126 freshmen weight bracket, going 7-2, and Daniel Sheehan of Concord who placed eighth, going 5-3, in the freshman 138 bracket.

Other wrestlers just falling short but posting significant results included Ella Paris of Salem, who went 5-2; Jacob Critchfield of Hollis-Brookline, who also went 5-2; Konrad Kutt of North Hampton, who was 4-2; Madison Beauregard of Concord, who also went 4-2; Jayden Deal of Spaulding, who was 3-2; Jack Kaler of Souhegan went 3-2; and Stephen Whisler of Portsmouth, who also went 3-2.
