Wrong-Way Driver on I-93 Arrested for Drunk Driving
NHSP: Jessica Powers of Massachusetts allegedly blew nearly four times the legal limit after a traffic stop tonight in Canterbury.

CANTERBURY, NH – A Bay State woman was arrested tonight after numerous travelers on I-93 reported a wrong-way driver on the southbound side of the highway in Concord, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Jessica Powers, 41, of Townsend, MA, was arrested on July 6, 2016, and charged with driving under the influence.

At just before 8 p.m., troopers received complaints that there was a red station wagon with Massachusetts plates driving north on the southbound side of I-93 in Canterbury.

Troopers responded to the area and reportedly stopped a red 2010 Mazda 3 just north of Exit 17 in Canterbury. The driver – Powers – was immediately arrested.
“Subsequent testing indicated she had an alcohol concentration of 0.29 percent, almost four times the legal limit,” according to Sgt. Ron Taylor of the New Hampshire State Police. “Powers was processed and released on personal cognizance bail and transported to the Merrimack County Jail where she was held for protective custody.”
