From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in Exeter.

Sports run deep in Exeter, and Exeter High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Blue Hawks uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Exeter High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Megan Olszewski – Collegiate Goalkeeper
A standout goalkeeper at Exeter High School, Olszewski led her team to an undefeated 2019 state championship and was named the Gatorade New Hampshire Girls Soccer Player of the Year. She continued her career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she played as a scholarship athlete and earned Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week honors. 2. Victoria Arlen – Paralympic Athlete & ESPN Personality
Arlen is a Paralympic gold medalist, world-class swimmer and ESPN sports host who attended Exeter High School, where she persevered through significant medical challenges and graduated with her class. After recovering from rare neurological conditions that left her unable to walk or speak for years, she went on to represent Team USA, winning a gold and three silver medals at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. 3. Hunter Long – NFL Tight End (Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars)
Long is a professional American football tight end from Exeter High School who went on to star at Boston College, where he earned Second-Team All-American and First-Team All-ACC honors before declaring for the NFL Draft. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, spent time with the Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams and in 2025 agreed to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars, continuing his NFL career in the league. Morissette is a professional baseball infielder who attended Exeter High School, excelling as an All-State multi-sport athlete before becoming a top baseball prospect. He starred at Boston College, earning All-ACC and All-America honors and was selected 52nd overall in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins. Morissette has progressed through the Marlins’ minor league system and is recognized as a promising young talent in the organization. A top athlete at Exeter High School, Malgeri captained the Blue Hawks to back-to-back New Hampshire state championships in 2017 and 2018, earning First Team All-State honors. He continued his success at Northeastern University, where he was named the 2021 CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player after leading the Huskies to their first-ever conference tournament title. Malgeri was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 18th round of the 2021 MLB Draft and is currently an active outfielder in their professional system, having reached the Double-A level with the Erie SeaWolves.
