Epping Man Arrested After Road Rage Incident: NHSP

Troopers say Jacob Bourque, a passenger in a vehicle, allegedly pointed a firearm at the driver of another vehicle on Route 101 on Saturday.

CANDIA, NH — A New Hampshire man was arrested on Saturday night after an alleged road rage incident on Route 101, according to the New Hampshire State Police. Jacob Bourque, 21, of Epping, was arrested on criminal threatening and violation of a protective order charges. He was held without bail in the Rockingham County House of Corrections and will be arraigned today.

According to state police, at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2018, troopers received a complaint about a road rage incident on Route 101 near Exit 2. The caller alleged that a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox had “brandished a pistol at the operator of another vehicle,” according to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A.

“Troopers assigned to the Troop A Barracks in Epping were able to locate this Chevrolet Equinox on Route 101 in the town of Candia near the Raymond town line,” Hennessey stated. “After a road side investigation, a passenger of this vehicle (was) identified as Bourque (and) was taken into custody. Recovered from this vehicle was a 40 caliber Hi-Point pistol along with ammunition.”

Last year, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader, Bourque was arrested on a warrant for illegally possessing alligators after allegedly abandoning them after being evicted from a home in Manchester. It’s illegal to possess an alligator in New Hampshire without a permit according to the report.
