Exeter, Stratham Bank Robberies Suspect Bagged

A tip to police led to the arrest of Michael Holt of Brentwood on Saturday.

STRATHAM, NH — A suspect in two recent bank robberies in Rockingham County recently has been arrested, according to police. Michael Holt, 49, of Brentwood, was arrested on Jan. 27, 2018, and charged with two counts of armed robbery. According to police, he was arrested at home after a search warrant led by Exeter Police Department, Stratham Police and the Brentwood Police, the Stratham Police noted in a post on Facebook.

The services of the Seacoast Emergency Response Team (SERT) were used due to the presence of weapons being expected.

“Saturday’s arrest is the result of an extensive investigation by Exeter and Stratham Police detectives after a tip was received from the public,” the reported noted. “The New Hampshire State Police also provided investigative resources to aid in this investigation.”

Holt is suspected in two robberies – one in Stratham on Jan. 13, and another in Exeter on Jan. 19. He is being held at the Rockingham County House of Corrections.
