On September 15th 2013, Run for the Fallen NH will hold its 3rd annual event honoring all New Hampshire service members who lost their lives since 9-11 It is a time to reflect and celebrate the lives of our New Hampshire heroes lost. Run For The Fallen is an event at Odiorne Park in Rye, where ANYONE can participate. Take a ride on the trolley, walk, run or bike any portion of the 12 mile course that is lined with all of our NH military heroes photos and family members. A special gathering happens after the public event for the families. Finders Keepers will be there to allow any gold star child to create their own special "Hero Bear" free of charge. These bears can be filled with special charms and momentos. While Finders Keepers is donating the bears, they are asking for help from the public. They need more sponsors to help acquire the decorations, ribbons, and flags to make each HERO Bear special and unique. It is a tangible reminder of how much New Hampshire residents appreciate their Dad's service. What is a Hero Bear? It is a 14"-16" Boyds Bear with a secret pouch near its heart. The idea is that a child picks special things to put in the pouch ; a flag bead, a gold star, a glass heart, simple little reminders of good times. The Hero bear then is closed up and tied off hiding the secret pouch. No one knows what is inside the bear except the child. The cost to sponsor an individual Hero Bear is about $20, but any amount would be greatly appreciated. Money or material donations can be left at either Finders Keepers location in Exeter or Derry, or thru www.BuffmanProject.org. You can also donate household items to be sold to help raise money. We hope to bring a craft store on as a donor/sponsor as well. Registration details and information about the event may be found at www.RunForTheFallenNH.org.
