Fitness Event Raises $11,000 for Cancer Patients

Kathy for a Cure Benefits Beyond the Rainbow

EXETER__The energy and excitement was endless as over 250 community members came together for a full day of fitness for the 7th annual Kathy for a Cure.

The fundraising event was held at the Oyster River High School in Durham.

Founded by Kathy Kerrigan, a breast cancer survivor and local fitness instructor, this year’s event raise more than $11,300 to support Exeter Hospital’s Beyond the Rainbow Fund. These funds are used to assist and support Exeter Hospital cancer patients in need.

Members of the Oyster River High School Chapter of the National Honor Society recently presented Kerrigan and Exeter Hospital a check for $1,000 to support the event. The students raised these funds by holding a Thanksgiving pie sales fundraising event in which 207 pies were sold. This is the third year that the Oyster River
