Newmarket Mules Boys Defeat Nute 75-37 in Season Opener

The Newmarket High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Milton to take on Nute on Tuesday night, scoring a big 75-37 win to kick off their season on a high note.

Junior Baris Fortier scored a game-high 38 points to go with 17 rebounds, and fellow junior Parker Sweitzer poured in a big 19 to pace the Mules. Jaron LaBranche scored 9, and Al Henry added double digit boards. Matt Napoletano and LJ Boyd made big contributions off the bench.

The varsity boys next take on Sunapee in an away game at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Mules boys JV team also defeated Nute on Tuesday night, with Napoletano and Jackie Prompradit leading the way.

Back at home, the Newmarket Girls Basketball team played Nute as well, with Lena Nicholson's 12 points pacing them to a 53-13 victory.
