KINGSTON, NH — The New Hampshire Fish & Game Department has filed a charge against a Kingston woman after a snowmobile crash Saturday. Around 1:45 p.m., conservation officers were called to a snowmobile trail system in northern Pittsburg for a report of an accident. The rider, Terri Chase, 39, was injured in the crash and transported to a warming hut at the Deer Mountain Campground by members of her riding party, according to Christopher Egan of Fish & Game.

Chase was then driven toward Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. But on the way, her condition began to deteriorate.

"The trip was ultimately intercepted at the Pittsburg Fire Station by Pittsburg fire-rescue first responders and 45th Parallel EMS personnel," Egan said. "Chase was transferred to the 45th Parallel ambulance and transported to UCVH for evaluation and treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries."

An inspection of her snowmobile found that the front shock absorber-suspension component failed and led to her going off the trail and striking a rock or stump that was under some snow. The snowmobile was damaged due to the crash, Egan said.

An investigation Sunday led to a confirmation that Chase was driving the snowmobile at the time of the crash, even though her operating privileges had been revoked, according to Egan. She was then charged with operating a snowmobile with a suspended or revoked license
