Gov. Maggie Hassan will celebrate its opening Friday.

The following is a news release:
The New Hampshire Department of Employment Security and Exeter St. Vincent de Paul will celebrate the opening of the Department’s Itinerant Office in the Community Assistance Center with a ribbon cutting on Friday, October 18, at 8:30 a.m.
Located at 53 Lincoln Street, the Community Assistance Center will house New Hampshire Works personnel every other Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Governor Maggie Hassan and Commissioner George Copadis will join St. Vincent de Paul president Cleo Castonguay and other dignitaries in the ceremony.
“New Hampshire’s small and responsive state government is at its best when it is engaged and listening to needs at the community level,” Governor Hassan said. “Employment Security’s new office at the St. Vincent de Paul Community Assistance Center will help ensure that the workers of Exeter have the support they need to find good jobs and stable careers. I thank Commissioner Copadis, President Castonguay and all those who have worked together to strengthen the Exeter community with this new office.”
NH Employment Security will offer assistance with unemployment claims; as well as free services, resources, and tools to assist both job seekers and employers with the entire job search process, hiring and employment needs. NHES has services available online and onsite to assist job seekers including an automated Job Match System, internet access, local papers, employment counseling, and career assessments, as well as, workshops on job searching, résumé writing and interviewing techniques.
St. Vincent de Paul operates a food pantry and advocacy program at its Community Assistance Center. So far this year the pantry has provided over 120,000 meals to those in need in the community. The Center is staffed by over 100 volunteers and is open five days a week. In addition, the Center houses the Fuel Assistance and Homeless Intervention programs run by Rockingham Community Action, Families First’s Mobile Health Clinic and the Senior Companions of New Hampshire.
