Stratham Historical Society Scholarship Applications Underway

Winfield L. Foote Awards for Academic Excellence Deadline Approaching

STRATHAM.....The Stratham Historical Society is pleased to announce that applications for the Society's Winfield L. Foote Awards for Academic Excellence are now underway. For 2024, SAU 16 school district graduates entering college in 2024, the deadline for applying is April 1, 2024. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from SAU 16 District. Stratham residents graduating from private schools outside the district may also apply. Each year two or more $1,000 awards are offered to graduating seniors who meet the criteria set forth by the Society. Last year nine very deserving students were recognized for their academic achievements.

A Benefactor Grant award is offered by the Society with a deadline of May 25, 2024. This grant is made available for projects related to the mission of the Stratham Historical Society.

These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Mr. Winfield L. Foote, a long-time resident of Stratham and a strong supporter of The Stratham Historical Society. To date, the program has awarded over $130,000.00 to deserving students.

Detailed instructions as to eligibility, application forms, a list of required documents and the method of submission may be found on the Stratham Historical Society's pages on the Town of Stratham's website: www.strathamnh.gov. Select "Boards and Committees" bar (under the Town Seal), pull down and scroll to "Historical Society", then click on "Scholarships" for complete application details. NOTE: It is important that applications are complete, following instructions and submitted prior to the deadline date.
