Vernon Family Farm Kicks off Summer Agritourism Events
Events on Newfields Farm Offer Opportunity for Community to Connect with Locally Raised Food and Farms

NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm is kicking off their summer season of agritourism events this Friday at the farm with their signature Vernon Kitchen fried chicken, local food offerings, live music and much more.
These ongoing family friendly agritourism events at the farm offer a way for the community to forge a connection with a local farmer and eat food raised and produced onsite. Vernon Kitchen, the farm’s on-site sister catering company, offers scratch made selection of dinners that can be consumed both on and off the farm. It specializes in the farm’s own pastured raised poultry and whenever possible sources all other ingredients from local farms using sustainable practices. The VK is open to the community every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and the fourth Sunday of the month from now through the end of October.
On agritourism nights, the farm’s store is open until 8 p.m., which provides an opportunity for people to check out the selection of locally grown produce, cheeses, meats, desserts and more, which are available for purchase.

“We envision these outdoor activities on the farm as a way to inspire connection and community,” said Nicole Vernon, who owns and operates the farm with her husband, Jeremiah. “Our mission is to continue to bridge the gap between farmer and consumer."
On some agritourism evenings, guests can enjoy live music from local musicians as they eat, with several ticketed seating options available.

Other occasions for the public to experience activities on the farm this year include art classes for kids and adults, guest speakers, farm tours, drum circle, and yoga with wildflower meditation. The first event of the season on Friday, May 26 will feature farm fresh food and music by the band 13Fifty. Tickets are required for all events/nights. Food is not included in the ticket price and is purchased separately on site.
“Our agritourism activities are diverse, unique, and encourage a wide variety of folks to come and explore what a local farm is,” Jeremiah Vernon said.
