• Winter Guide 2026: A Look Back At Littleton's Snow Train (caledonianrecord.com) — During the Great Depression, Littleton's Snow Train brought Boston visitors north for winter weekends, with Franconia's Spooner Farm among the places welcoming guests. The service began in February 1933 with $4 round-trip fares, filling railroad seats and bringing welcome income to local businesses and families who offered lodging.
