• 900-Acre Wildfire in White Mountains Likely Caused by Humans, Authorities Say (thetrek.co) — Investigators believe human activity likely started the Wild River Fire south of Gorham, though the cause remains under investigation. Thursday's update put the fire at 856 acres and 11% containment, with no homes threatened. The Kenduskeag Trail is closed, while the Appalachian Trail remains open with a caution for hikers.
   

• White Mountain National Forest wildfire now 20% contained (wcax.com) — The Wild River Fire seven miles southeast of Gorham was 20% contained Friday, but the affected forest area and several hiking trails remain closed. Nearly 1,000 acres have been impacted, and Gorham firefighters are on standby to help. Officials say no homes or structures are threatened.
