Join us at North Hampton Public Library for a gardening and book presentation, America’s Romance with the English Garden. This lecture will be presented by local author and lifelong gardener, Thomas J. Mickey on Thursday, April 24th at 6:30pm. Professor Mickey is a professor emeritus of Communication Studies at Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, Massachusetts and the author of three previous books.
In this presentation, Professor Mickey will explain how the Romantic English garden became the "look of America" through the marketing of seed and nursery catalogue companies with their romanticized pictures of sprawling lawns, lush plants and the latest garden fixtures. There will also be time for gardening questions, answers and discussion!
